Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has banned the operations of casinos and gaming centres in the state, including BetNaija over alleged "dark deals". The notice of the ban is contained in a statement jointly signed by the Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr Donatus Onyenji; Chairman, Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Richard Madiebo and the Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, Chikodi Anara. According to the statement, the ban is a sequel to a worrisome number of petitions recently received by the government concerning the manipulation of casino machines and non-transparency in payment for winnings. According to him, these fraudulent acts won't happen under the governor's watch. The governor suspends these betting activities till further notice as regulators are on the watch to make sure any irregularity is corrected to keep the citizens...

Liz Truss has resigned as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, UK, after a month and a half in office. She just made the announcement 24 hours after saying she was a fighter and not a quitter, and so would continue in office. Truss succeeds Boris Johnson who resigned from his appointment as PM in July over a series of scandals. Liz Truss said she would stay on until a successor is chosen in the next week.
