EFCC has nabbed a fraudster in Uyo the capital of Akwaibom state. Justice Agatha Okeke of the Federal High Court, Uyo has convicted and sentenced a notorious international fraudster, Scales Olatunji, to 235years imprisonment for internet fraud and money laundering. Olatunji was arraigned on July 2, 2019 on 45-count charges bordering on identity theft, money laundering and conspiracy. He pleaded “not guilty” to the charges, thus setting the stage for his trial. Singer R. Kelly was sent to 30 years in prison in a Brooklyn federal court on Wednesday after being convicted of racketeering and sex trafficking in September 2021.  US District Judge Ann Donnelly sentenced Kelly after she and the court heard Complaints from the victims. She also ordered him to pay a $100,000 fine. The singer, who has been jailed since 2019, faces separate charges of child pornography and obstruction of justice in a federal case in Chicago, where a trial is set for August 1 2022. China is building a yuan currency reserve that will compete with the dollar and prop up other economies facing volatility The People's Bank of China made known it's developing a yuan reserve which includes Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Chile. Each nation is contributing 15 billion yuan, about $2.2 billion, to the Renminbi Liquidity Arrangement, China's central bank announced in a statement Saturday.
